Caran d’Ache 1010 Pen
Caran d'Ache's 1010 Limited Edition fountain pen is a tribute to the Swiss watchmaking industry.
Ten minutes past ten (10:10), the moment when the hands on a watch dial are perfectly balanced, is the inspiration behind the name. The body of the pen recalls the delicate gears of fine timepieces and is made of rhodium-coated silver. Two cages, one decorated with gear wheels, and the other with the bridges that link them, are fitted over a transparent body. The cap is inspired by watch crowns and is polished by hand. The clip suggests a watch hand and is attached to a pinion. The design goes for incredible authenticity with a piston pump set with a ruby and a sapphire crystal dome at the bottom tip of the pen containing a balance wheel poised between two rubies.
The pen is presented in a black lacquered box along with a raw glass bottle containing blue-black ink and a palladium-plated silver stopper. Each limited edition of 500 is individually numbered.
Word on MSRP starts at $19,000.

Breitling for Bentley Flying B
Breitling for Bentley Flying B
The latest model in the Breitling for Bentley collection is the Flying B, a new rectangular watch. The watch is done in 18K rose gold and measures an astounding 38.5mm X 57.3mm. This massive watch has a sapphire crystal, and the back is engraved with the Flying B symbol of Bentley. The movement is the automatic Breitling caliber 28b, with 38 jewels, beating at 28,800 bph and with COSC-certification as a chronometer.
The rectangular design, the first in the collection, is not the only surprising feature of the Breitling for Bentley Flying B. The watch is special for its original display mode.
The Breitling watch incorporates the jumping hour mechanism with the hour hand replaced by a disc positioned at 12 o'clock. The dial of the Breitling Flying B represents a true masterpiece of artistry and craftsmanship. It sports a wide range of original details, including the knurled motif that was suggested by Bentley instrumentation.
The hour-markers of the Breitling watch are produced from mother-of-pearl. The dial's design is based upon distinguishing interplay on reliefs and materials, underlined by a subtle color touch matching the central part as well as the jumping hour aperture. The Breitling artisans created a slightly cambered dial profile that required all their mastery and ingenuity. The curving shape of the watch's sapphire crystal was also worth considerable efforts.
At the case-back of the Breitling watch there is the legendary Bentley 'Flying B' symbol which continuously served as the timeless emblem of the prestigious Bentley automobiles. The Flying B offers the choice between a steel model, then the version crafted in a refined red gold as well as in a luxurious series of white gold pieces. The Breitling watches go on an elegant over-stitched strap or a Speed bracelet. The watch is also available in 18K gold or stainless steel and sells for around $20,000 for the gold version.

S.T. Dupont French Line Limited Edition Pens
French Line Limited Edition
The French art de vivre – art of life – has always evoked the spirit, the refinement and luxury that is present in the French culture. In 1864 Transatlantic General Company, also called the French Line, embodied that unique art de vivre, transporting the elite on its majestic ocean liners. Thanks to these magnificent steamers, French artists and master craftsmen became famous abroad.
S.T. Dupont pays tribute to those legendary liners with the creation of the French Line Limited Edition. The unique architecture of these ships was taken as the starting point for this collection. The brushed-steel plates on the lighters as well as the anthracite metal body of the pens evoke the impressive hulls. The rivets and the grids in relief are reminiscent of the banisters, the rails and the bridges of the steamers.
In reference to the founding date of the French Line, only 1,864 pieces of each writing instrument of the French Line Limited Edition are available worldwide.

B.R.M(Bernard Richards)
Bernard Richards loves the artisanal aspect of his production. His chronographs “smell” like motor oil. His clients appreciate this virile authenticity. “We are a small company, and that is an advantage. We can react quickly,” he says with pride. With six models, the brand sold 47 watches in 2003, 700 in 2004, and 1,200 in 2005, and it should produce 2,200 this year. The retail prices range from 1,500 euros to 35,000 euros.Everything in the shape of the BRM pieces is reminiscent of car racing: the straps (chequered flags, tyres); cases (wheel rims, nuts and bolts, engine); dials (wheel, dashboard, race car numbers); hands (open design like the spokes of steering wheels of yesteryear); and even the chronograph pushbuttons (pistons).

Koenigsegg CCX supercar - $1,000,000 range for USA Market
Koenigsegg CCX supercar
This beauty is from Swedish inventor Christian von Koenigsegg.
The CCX is in many aspects a new car since it has been re-engineered to comply with the US regulation and market demands. Still, it has been a key issue for the Koenigsegg Team to keep the distinctive and record breaking CC shape.
With a carbon-fiber monocoque and carbon-fiber chassis, the extremely light (2,600 pounds) and rigid CCX certainly appears to be the stuff of dreams. Koenigsegg has gone to extra trouble to construct his own engine -- a twin supercharged 4.8-liter V-8 that makes 806 horsepower.
If that isn't enough -- or if you're environmentally sensitive -- Koenigsegg offers an E85-powered engine that makes 1,018 hp. Inside, everything you touch is either aluminum, leather, titanium, or carbon fiber. "When the car is open," says Koenigsegg, "it gives you an airy feeling unlike any other car -- it's more like a speedboat."
Price: $990,000 for the 806-hp version, $1,018,000 for the 1,018-hp E85 version
Performance
Acceleration: 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) 3.2 seconds
Top speed: 395+ km/h (245+ mph)
Standing Quartermile: 9.9 seconds, end speed 235 km/h (146 mph)
Braking distance: 31m (100-0 km/h)
Lateral G-force: 1.3 G
Fuel Consumption: Highway travel: 13 l / 100 km
Combined: 17 l / 100 km
Body
Two-door, two seater with removable hardtop stowable under the front hood lid. Body made of pre-impregnated carbon fiber/ Kevlar and lightweight sandwich reinforcements.

Graf von Faber 2007 Pen of The Year Limited Edition
Graf von Faber 2007 Pen of The Year Limited Edition
2007 Pen of The Year Limited Edition
The Pen of the Year 2007 is a writing implement and piece of jewellery in one. The platinum plated frame encases each and every one of the eight stones and shows off its unmistakable brilliance to best effect. Thanks to the virtuoso precision cut, not the slightest unevenness can be detected at the transitions between the metal and the stones. It is fascinating to see and feel such an exciting combination of two so different materials.
Gem cutters transform petrified wood into jewels
Fascination with wood - the core theme of the Graf von Faber-Castell Collection. For the purpose of this range, only the most precious and exotic timbers are being used: This Classic Collection embraces pernambuco wood usually used by violin makers, dark brown grenadilla wood or dark black ebony. Cedar and alder wood accentuate the precious lead pencils and desktop accessories of the Graf von Faber-Castell Collection. In addition, the extremely rare snakewood with its typical wavy grain coloration succeeded in conquering the hearts of the connoisseurs of superior writing implements: as magnum barrel of the first plunger fountain pen of the year, the 'Pen of the Year 2003".
Now the admiration for this living material reaches its climax: Subsequent to a costly and time-intensive finishing process which requires a great deal of craftsmanship, the primeval fossil is used for making the barrel of the “Pen of the Year 2007“.
Price $3,000

Audio Vinyl Delight - Turntable by Simon Yorke
Simon Yorke Designs Series 7 turntable
The S7(by Simon Yorke) was designed following requests from National and other sound archives for a truly professional transcription system capable of playing almost any analogue disc ever produced - a player to enable historic recordings to be accurately transcribed in a precise, consistent and simple manner – without any loss of ‘soul’ or sound quality.
The archival version of the S7 (used by many of the largest and most prestigious National Sound Archives in the world) is equipped with a special CNC motion control system that permits very precise speed selection (10,00 – 120,00 rpm) and the physical capacity to play discs of up to 500mm diameter in both directions.
The platter is a perfectly balanced flywheel, machined to micron accuracy in 30mm austenitic (non-magnetic) stainless steel. With a mass in excess of 11kg, the stored kinetic energy guarantees absolute stability of speed. The turntable is supplied with a record mat fabricated from pure graphite and a high mass record clamp. The module, or turntable chassis, is a massive stainless steel disc of 185mm diameter into which the turntable bearing is built, and onto which the armboard is affixed.
The a.c. motor drive system delivers speeds of 33, 45 & 78 rpm, driving the platter via a compliant belt and precision transfer bearing system. The motor and intermediate transfer bearing, both free standing, dissipate residual vibration through precise mechanical tolerances and carefully utilised mass.
The S7 is usually supplied complete with one 9" S7 tonearm though armboards for simultaneously mounting two S7 tonearms (9" or 12") may also be supplied.
Price $15,000

Jaeger LeCoultre Watch - remote for your Aston Martin DBS
For $367,000 You Can Be Like James Bond
It's a high price to pay to fulfill a fantasy, but if you've got it, why not spend it? Luxury automaker Aston Martin is now offering a Bond-worthy limited edition Jaeger LeCoultre wristwatch for their new DBS vehicle that will not only unlock the car, but also start it.
The watch, which carries a $35,000 price tag, is only available to those who purchase the Aston Martin DBS vehicle, which itself costs $332,000.
For that kind of cash, purchasers will be getting not only one of the world's hottest cars, but also one of the most complexes timepieces in the world. The watch has over 200 parts used just for the casing, and an additional 200 parts for the watch movement itself. They also managed to shrink the electronics inside the DBS transponder so it would fit inside the watch.
With the new watch and the car to go along with it, you'll be able to ditch the keys for good. Jaeger boss Jerome Lambert has also hinted that there's an even more expensive model in the works.
For now, however, buyers are limited to choosing between the grade 5 titanium model watch, or the more exclusive rose-gold edition.

BlancPain Watch - Tourbillon "Fifty Fathoms"
This is a real beauty! Out of all the watches that we've seen this would be on our top list!
BlancPain Tourbillon "Fifty Fathoms", SPORT, power-reserve indicator, black dial, unidirectional bezel, self-winding
Blancpain has perfected and miniaturised this masterpiece of the watchmaking art. Its power reserve eliminates the necessity of daily winding and guarantees optimum precision due to the slower more regular detent of its barrel spring.
Today, as in 1801, the Tourbillon represents one of traditional watchmaking’s masterpieces. Paying tribute to this exceptional invention, Blancpain presents Tourbillon watches water-resistant to 30-100 meters.

German Physiks Loreley MK II speakers radiate full-range frequencies in a full 360 degrees
THE LORELEY MK II
The Loreley employs four DDD bending wave drivers per side mounted in a similar line source array, but lacking the motorized positioning feature. Two large bass enclosures per side incorporates four 12" inverted dome drivers, with a 3" maximum excursion per driver, the low frequency output of this system is prodigious, exceeding 110 dB at 18 Hz. These sub bass drivers are the largest domes ever constructed. Distortion levels are typically a tenth as much as those of conventional 18" subwoofers at comparable outputs, and acceleration and transient response are far superior due to the immense magnetic forces generated by our massive rare earth magnets, and the very high stiffness of the dome diaphragms.
Bi-amplification is mandatory, and the German Physiks electronic crossover ist standard. Power compression, the reduction in dynamic range attendant upon heating of the voice coil, is much reduced over conventional woofer cones due to the ultrawide underhung voice coil and triple magnet structure used in our low frequency drivers. Power handling is correspondingly greatly increased over that of conventional designs. Simply put, the Loreley bass system cannot be overdriven by conventional amplifiers regardless of power rating.Cabinet finish is entirely comparable to that of The Gaudi, and performance approximates the larger system up to quite high listening levels. In smaller listening spaces, The Loreley will more than hold its own against any speaker system at any price. With optional Electronic Crossover. Pricing: $165,995 with venner finish $179,995 with high-polish veneer finish $199,995 with carbon finish |
